However, due to the game not having a decent anti-cheat system, some players often resort to cheating to get free wins and ruin the game for other players. This issue has been taken advantage of by Eris Loris, who boots all the existing players in a lobby out of the game while sending them a mildly threatening message.
One Reddit user said earlier today“If you come across a player named Eris Loris in Among Us then ban them immediately,” says Reddit user u/HereticStream. “I was just in a game with them and they forced everyone in the lobby to text this message and it then immediately disconnected everyone. This is their YouTube channel with evidence that they wrote the hack”.
Eris Loris is a YouTuber, posting a variety of gaming content to their channel, and it’s mostly about hacking various games to get new equipment and skills. He has by now hacked the matches’ chats, spamming it with messages reading “Subscribe to Eris Loris | Vote TRUMP 2020,” with a link to a Discord channel.
James Sebree, a researcher for security firm Tenable, on Tuesday, published a blog post laying out a slew of relatively simple, hackable vulnerabilities in Among Us that he has discovered over the past two months, allowing an extraordinary range of cheats. Till an update is passed, players are urged to only play with people they trust, and uninstall and reinstall of Among Us to wipe the problem clean if they come across the person.
